Even though the restaurant was more than half empty, was given a poky little table in a corner opposite the bar area. I was doing some work and needed wifi access, and, despite signs advising of wifi on the premises, I could NOT get connectivity at my table. Upon mentioning this to the waitress, I was told "I know, it isn't the best in here. You may need to walk around until you find somewhere that you can get connectivity". No offer of being seated elsewhere. I'm wondering whether there is a dress code for the waiters and waitresses, as they were all dressed in attire which looked more suitable for an afternoon stroll around the town than their vocation. Anyway, I ordered a mixed grill, asking if it was possible to replace the sausages with an extra portion of black pudding. Having waited for over 20 minutes (heaven knows what it would be like when they are busy) I was brought my mixed grill ... complete with sausage! I reminded my waitress, who took my meal away, and left me sitting there for another 7-8 minutes. When my meal eventually arrived the majority of the items were best described as "cool", so I can only assume that they had left it on a work surface whilst preparing the additional black pudding. I advised my waitress that I wasn't happy with either the service or the meal itself, and no notice was taken of this comment at all
- Tony Harris Review added: 2018.06.16★ ★ ★ ★ ★I've stayed at the hotel and eaten in the restaurant four times now. I find it a really great place to stay. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The restaurant for dinner is always extremely busy, but that's because it's very good. Breakfast is equally excellent. Prices are good value and this hotel is my first choice when visiting this area. Thoroughly recommend.
